Many people with disabilities don't have a job - yet people with disabilities are like anyone else. They can work – and want to work – so that they have more independence. The difference is: they may need a little extra support and practice to learn how to do a job. That’s why they need coaching. If people with disabilities work in high school, they are two and a half times more likely to work later on. Your coaching dollars could make a big difference and provide a real shot at an independent adulthood. For every $50 contributed to support United Way's 21 and Able initiative, you can provide someone with disabilities the coaching they need to learn a job and, thus, keep that job that will help them in well into the future.
