With more than 54 million Americans living with disabilities, serving their interests means serving the interests of one quarter of the population. After the age of 21, it is common in Pennsylvania for young people with disabilities to join long waiting lists for sufficient programs to become available. Parents often must leave full-time employment to ensure that their child has the support they need. Currently, there is no clear roadmap for a successful transition into adulthood – but together, we can fix that. Together, we can help them pave their own road to independence.
